Read full description of the books:

After aspiring novelist Francis Scanlon is expelled from a prestigious creative writing program, he is forced to become a spin doctor at the Prock Chocolate Corporation while he awaits the publication of his masterpiece.

But Francis’s expectations of easy money and literary glory are thwarted by a paranoid boss, a charlatan writing coach, a snarky reporter, a sanctimonious public health crusader, an oily U.S. Senator, and a radical Muslim cleric with absolutely no sense of humor.

As the story unfolds, Francis is swept up by market forces and transformed from Millennial hipster to globe-trotting corporate jet-setter.

Corporate America is a smart, outrageously funny debut that deftly blends bone-dry satire, high ideals and bad taste without ever showing its seams

Read information about the author

Ebook Corporate America read Online! Jack Dougherty is author of two books, Most Likely to Succeed at Work (St. Martin’s Press) and Corporate America (Bastable Books). He grew up in St. Louis and began his career in politics, writing speeches for members of the Missouri House of Representatives and, later, for senior politicians on Capitol Hill.

For two decades he has worked at the intersection of politics, big business, the news media, and activist groups—usually when all the forces are colliding head-on. It was at this intersection that he discovered the unintentional folly that informs Corporate America, his satirical novel. Currently he owns and operates his own public affairs consulting firm, which provides boutique writing services and strategic communications counsel to politicians and top executives at Fortune 500 corporations. He also lectures on various communications topics at the University of Virginia, in Charlottesville, where he lives.
